We call it Blue Canyon.
A sunlit Place . . .
. . . to live . . . to play
. . . to find tranquillity.
A place for your future |
| Blue Canyon Country
Club leaves an impression on every golfer from around
the world. Having an opportunity to play and sample
the delights of Asia’s finest private golf resort is
like being in an exciting natural jungle with daunting
natural hazards, an abundance of lakes and towering
trees.
Blessed with rare, natural
landscape, the concept of creating a world standard
championship golf resort has been achieved with our
courses. On 1,300 acres of land that was originally
used for tin-mining and rubber trees, the developers
specifically ensured that the original natural
surroundings were maintained. Thus only 250,000 cubic
metres of earth was removed in comparison to the
normal two to three million. |

| Blue Canyon is
also famous for the luxurious Golfer's Lodge hotel and
Clubhouse. With 48 guestrooms, excellent dining
facilities offering a variety of Thai, Japanese and
Continental cuisine, the spacious Lodge is the heart
of the Blue Canyon community. Facilities such as the
health centre with Jacuzzis, saunas, steam room and
massage are welcome after playing on the Canyon Course
or enjoying either our Gary Player Golf Academy,
tennis courts and swimming pools. |

Blue Canyon Country Club leaped
to fame when the Canyon Course was selected as the
venue for the 1994
Johnnie Walker Classic as well as the
1996 Honda Invitational
Tournament of the Omega Tour. Many of
the world’s top golfers, including Nick Faldo,
Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Ian Woosnam and
Greg Norman, kept the galleries captivated by
their excellent play until the excitement of the last
hole. Greg Norman holed his final putt to win
the Johnnie Walker Classic and Steve Elkington
won the Honda Invitational. Tiger Woods also
played in the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic as an
amateur and is the current amateur course record
holder.
In January, 1998, the
Johnnie Walker Classic
returned to the Canyon Course. Once again, many of the
world's top golfers competed for the title, including
Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Nick Faldo, Fred Couples
and Ian Woosnam. The spectacular finish included
one of the greatest comebacks in tournament golf. On
the final day, Tiger Woods was 9 strokes
behind leader Ernie Els. Woods made
up the 9 strokes in dynamic fashion and Els
had to birdie the 18th for a playoff. The first hole
of the playoff was a draw, but Woods birdied
the next for a dramatic and hugely popular win in his
mother's homeland. |

the back tees to a comfortable 5,974 yards from the
forward tees. The course has 18 holes and is par 72.
Lakes Course
A different golfing experience
will be offered on the challenging Lakes Course, with
plenty of water and gently undulating fairways.
Panoramic mountain views across the many lakes will
provide a memorable golfing environment for everyone. |
